Sacred Art

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. And they by the wayside are they that hear: then the devil cometh and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved. Now they upon the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no roots: for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation they fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they who have heard and, going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit. But that on the good ground are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.
-St. Luke 8: 11-15

Each week on Sundays there is a coffee social after the 8:30AM Mass and potluck and catechism after the 10:30AM Mass in the church hall downstairs.

On this coming Wednesday, January 31st, Bishop Schlert will be coming to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please remember our confirmandi and their sponsors in your prayers.

This Friday, February 2nd, is First Friday. Beginning this First Friday and on subsequent First Fridays, the Most Blessed Sacrament will be exposed all day for adoration starting at 9AM for the purpose of making reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the attacks on our Holy Mother Church, and for the conversion of unbelievers. Mass will be offered at 8AM and 7PM as usual. As it is also the feast of Candlemas, candles will be blessed after the 7PM Mass. Please bring your candles to the church and place them in front of the St. Joseph Altar to be blessed.

This Saturday, February 3rd, is First Saturday and the Feast of St. Blaise. The Altar Server Guild will meet after the 8AM Mass. The blessing of throats will be given after the 8AM Mass that morning as well as after the Masses here next Sunday.
